The National Championships are being held in Nelson 26-28 January. DH, XC, 4X and HC will be contested.
To be eligible for a national championship tile riders must have a licence. Those without licences, or who enter on the day, are still eligible to race, but not eligible to take out a title.
The National Championships are not part of the National Series, and are a stand alone event.
Pre Entries for National Championships close 18 January 2007.
An Under 23 men and women’s national championship XC title will be contested. This will be a separate category than elite and is a change from past national championship races. This will mean Under 23 XC riders who compete in the elite category during the National Series can be in a different category for the National Championships to be in line with Continental and World Championships.

TEAMS COMPETITION
The NZCT National MTB Series Teams Competition aims to encourage more of an atmosphere at events by giving local industry a chance to support riders and have a space within the Event Village and to create an independent prize pool for team participation. It is also a great way of promoting a product by having a team wearing a specific brand.
Teams consist of between 3 and 5 riders from a combination of categories across XC and DH. The top 3 riders from each round gain points for their team and the team with the most points at the end of the Series is crowned the Champion Team. The top 5 teams are awarded prize money (dependant on number of team entries).
