Carding Information
Athletes
Performance Programme - Carding
Athlete Performance will be supported under three "Podium Programmes" These programmes are based on the primary objectives of the BikeNZ High Performance strategy:
- The ability to Podium at the 2012 London Olympics
- The ability to Podium at World Championship events
- Potential to podium at the 2016 Olympics
Underneath these 3 levels we will also be supporting targeted campaign support / individual support for:
- Sport Development Programmes - specific campaigns HP is supporting through Academy of Sport are BMX Worlds, MTBNZ Junior Development for Worlds, and the Junior Track Worlds programme.
- Pro Rider Programme which will be linking direct NZAS support to athletes within full time international Pro Contracts. The focus here will be a coach lead approach to assist individual athletes with Sport Science/Sports Medicine performance support.
The primary objective across the Carding programme is to align support for athletes and their respective Lead Coach targeted for pinnacle events in 2012. The number of athletes involved has been narrowed down from previous years; the main reason for this is to ensure head coach to athlete ratio is reduced down to 1:8 across our key Track and BMX programmes.
