Road Cycling
Road Cycling has often been referred to as the glamour disciplines of cycling events with unbelievably passionate crowds and profile in European countries where riders are idolised even more than, yes, that's right, even more than rugby players!
But it's not all about the elite riders - there is a growing ground swell of riders taking up the road cycling challenge every weekend in road races, time trials, team time trials - this year's club road nationals attracted over 600 riders, the biggest it's been in years.
And if you're not interested in what your time was and how it compares with your mates - there are also events out there which are just about getting out on your bike and having a crack.
Track Cycling
Track Cycling is the ultimate stadium sport - everyone can watch, learn and not worry about getting dropped! It's an awesome way to get into cycling as there's no cars and no matter what kind of cycling you're into, there are tactics and physiological benefits on getting on the track! Yes, you do go round and round in circles, but believe it or not, that's part of the appeal!
To try track riding, contact your local club, there are beginner classes and super helpful trackies all over the country ready to get you on the velodrome!
