Kia ora, hello - from Rotorua to the singlespeeders of the world...
99 days to go...850 entries...30 countries...
The latest news:
• It's been a cold start to July in Rotorua. No snow, like this time two years ago, but some big, big frosts.
Designed by Gaz from Nzo, who's also designed a unique Soigneur NZ, 1-off, 100% merino SSWC riding jersey.
(• Kiwis order HERE • Aussies order HERE • Rest of the World order HERE).
• And check out our video look back at the last couple of years of the Rotorua Singlespeed Society - 2 x NZ SiS champs...
...now the Worlds...
Some housekeeping:
• Love it or hate it - we're still not sure - but we're using facebook.
Hook up with us for regular updates (you can always bin it after the event).
Nice to hear from some of you (like our friends from the Philippines, a couple of days ago) via facebook messages.
And a big shout-out to Ko from Japan - he'll be here in October and has been inspired to run the Japan Singlespeed Champs in 2011!
• Because of venue size, friends, family and partners wanting to attend the after-match function must have a Party Animal ticket.
• The wearing of team-style lycra will be actively discouraged - unless you have a very good reason.
And a note from your mother doesn't count - don't say we didn't warn you, OK?
Exceptions: particularly nasty, retro, thongs etc...
• SSWC10 is powered by Rotorua bike shop and bespoke bike builder, Kiwibikes, and our great crew of friendly locals.
• Check out Ride Rotorua for more on the mountain bike trails in the Whakarewarewa Forest, on the southern doorstep of Rotorua, where SSWC will be raced on October 23...
• If you have queries about the event please do not reply to this email address.
Contacts for information, about entries etc, are:
Dean Watson and Marcus Diprose.
Details about event schedule - where, when, how etc - will be on the website over the next couple of months...
• SSWC week starts on Sunday October 17, with another epic - the Whaka 100 - an off-road metric century on some of the best singletrack anywhere...
