The 2013 NZ MTB Cups series will host four downhill and three cross country events, starting in Bluff on January 4 and concluding at the series finale in Hunua, Auckland on February 10 where the series champions will be crowned.

Course description
Distance per lap - 4.4km, altitude gain 240m
All Classes:
Start loop: only done once
Start from the bottom at the tennis courts and climb tarseal road
Acute left, up through gate
Ride clockwise on the dirt track around the outside of the Velodrome
Normal course
Head north through the car park
At Marist St Pats, turn left up 4wd to top
Head north staying on the right hand side of Alexandra Rd for 25m
Cross Alexandra road saddle obeying Marshals commands
Jump up kerb between fence and big tree
Continue climbing on track heading north up grassy rise
Down thru gap in green fence
Acute left, 10m on tarseal, then right down S bend
Head south on Super D course
Down rooty section
Veer left onto Dovetail and climb to top
Veer left on track out on to grass to Alexandra Rd saddle
Sharp right before post and back towards Green Seat on track
First left descent behind the Green Seat
Veer right at first Y, then turn left down roots
Head downhill on singletrack to meet 4WD track at LOTR tree
Head north on this 4WD and take 2nd track on left downhill
Go thru chainsaw gap in large macrocarpa over bridge
At bottom ride north, then make 180 degree left
Ride 30m south and turn right down smooth drop off
Downhill over roots and turn left over wooden water bar
Very steep climb up, staying left at Y
Right onto 4WD that you just left
Head south climbing 4WD track back to Alexandra Rd saddle
Go straight up either side of steps to Mt Alfred knoll heading south
Right down Mt Alfred Switchback
Join flat track heading north towards Alexandra Rd saddle
Just before Alexandra Rd, turn left down wide walking track
Veer left on to narrow rough track
Follow rough track south down and up
Just before Alexandra Park, acute left uphill
First right down steps to Rods Drop to Alexandra Park
(Rods drop is closed until Feb so go straight ahead and downhill to the right using the Chicken Route down to Alexandra Park)
Up rise and turn right to head south
Up singletrack between rocks up ridge
Around water tower roof
Steep downhill with ramp over pipes and turns
Exit outside Chest Hospital
Cross road obeying Marshals commands
Climb knoll then head south straight ahead over rough roots
Take acute 150 degree left to head north on flat rooty track
Right descending for 10 metres before veering right again
Left and descend through mature pine trees to walking track
Left and continue to the Velodrome.
Stay left around the back of the Velodrome
At northern end of inbuilt seats turn right and descend seats diagonally or left down nanny line (nanny line will be longer to slow progress).
Repeat seat descents further south
Ride around to south eastern entry in Velodrome.
Follow track marked in Velodrome
Exit at Velodrome North east exit by clubrooms
